Mulberry School for Girls was honored to be invited to be a part of a very special event to welcome Little Amal to London

On Saturday 23 October 2021 Over 160 students sang their hearts out on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral to greet Little Amal, an 11-foot-tall puppet of a Syrian refugee girl. Her journey across Europe, bringing focus on the plight of millions of refugees and displaced children around the world.

On the day, Year 8 student Synicia stepped in to the lead role and addressed the crowd, reading Little Amal’s letter. Mulberry’s gifts of welcome also included a garland made by Year 7 students, who were praised by David Lan for their creative work. Students also wished Amal happy birthday in BSL which lit the screens at Piccadilly Circus.
